Dividends are determined Q over Q by the Board. Because markets fluctuate day by and even minute by minute, there is no crystal ball that can look 5 years into the future.
However, you have the benefit of looking BACK and seeing how consistently a company has maintained or even grown its dividend over one, three, five ten or even twenty years.
