RE:PredictionWell Fatcharlie,
Your prediction that some of the sellers will be kicking themselves has already come true at least with me!
I had bought in the 16.50 to 17.00 range (using my "fun speculative" money), and then sold a couple of months ago at 20.25
Although I made a nice profit, for some reason I felt a bit sad selling Becker Milk as I really like the company, and a part of me has been wishing ever since then that I just held Becker Milk.
By the way, I always wanted to ask you: when did you buy your first Becker Milk shares?
As for me... since I sold Becker milk, I was actually using the profit money to help fund some quick trades with Riocan, Northern Properties REIT, Baytex, and Crescent Point when those companies went through various dips.
Although I wonder: instead of going through all the trouble of trading Riocan, and other companies on dips, I probably would have made the same total amount of money just simply holding Becker Milk, and waiting until it sells some time this year, without having to go through all that hassle and trading!
(lol!)
I think this is yet another argument that longerterm holding of good companies wins out in the end, rather than trying to quick trade your way to profits.
In fact I've been very tempted to buy back into Becker Milk.. if I buy today I think I'll get back in for pretty exactly what I sold it for...
But today I just bought some speculative shares of another company (which might also be facing a buy out in the coming weeks/months).
Although when it comes to possible buyouts, I think Becker Milk is significantly on the safer, less risky side of the spectrum, with about the same exact upside potential (percentage wise).
So better to stick with the safer bet, when presented with 2 similar choices.
Well, just thought I would drop back in on the Becker Milk Crowd.
Very glad to see that FatCharlie is still a loyal/wise Becker Milk shareholder.
