RE:Guessing Time
In Ukraine itself, no special preparations for war can be observed. There is neither a mobilisation of reservists nor hastily called manoeuvres. No special measures are being taken in the border regions with Russia and Belarus either. President Selensky, referring to Western media reports, said that they were fuelling mass hysteria. READ ALSO RUSSIA-IRAN-POLITICS-DIPLOMACY UKRAINE CRISIS Kremlin accuses Biden of instilling 'hotheads' with false hope What does Ukraine expect from the West's negotiations with Russia? Ukrainian media speculate about the purpose of the "Western media campaign". On the one hand, Kiev is interested in staying on the international agenda and, in the event of war, using new Western sanctions to prevent the Nord Stream 2 Baltic Sea pipeline between Russia and Germany, which is also rejected by the USA. In addition, the chronically poor country is dependent on international financial aid. Above all, however, President Selenski has repeatedly called for new sanctions against Russia, even in the current situation, in order to deter the country and prevent further "aggression". https://www.welt.de/politik/ausland/article236363283/Ukraine-Konflikt-Wie-gross-die-Kriegsgefahr-wirklich-ist.html?source=puerto-reco-2_AAA-V4.A_control
