Blackline has achieved a significant milestone in reaching $100 million in total annual revenue, recording its 27th consecutive quarter of year-over-year total revenue growth. In the fourth quarter of 2023, it reached $30 million total revenue, a 36 per cent increase over the previous year’s quarter.
Slater says 2023 finished strong, with growth in the United States increasing 89 per cent, while the Canadian market reported 12 per cent revenue growth and revenue from the rest of the world grew 14 per cent.
Among new business, it was awarded a $3.5-million contract by a leading North American energy company to protect more than 850 workers, and $1.3 million worth of contracts with Middle East energy companies.
Blackline is a technology leader in the industrial workforce, with connected devices and predictive analytics that enable companies to drive toward zero safety incidents and improved operational performance. It provides wearable devices, personal and area gas monitoring, cloud connected software and data analytics to meet demanding safety challenges with customers in more than 100 countries.

More than 150,000 workers are monitored 24/7, resulting in reporting more than 226 billion data points and initiating more than seven million emergency alerts. Slater says the company purpose is to ensure every worker has the confidence to get the job done and return home safely.
Whether in a mine in Chile, a remote location in the Arctic or at a B.C. fish farm, Blackline’s technology is revolutionizing the safety of workers spanning industries such as oil and gas, petrochemical, food production, transportation utilities, or water and wastewater.
The market is huge.
The International Labour Organization reports that every 15 to 30 seconds, someone around the world dies from a work-related incident — 6,000 deaths per day. And the number of lone workers is growing.
Blackline protects against on-the-job hazards such as exposure to 26 different gases, falls and any other accidents in remote locations with use of its G7 connected wearable device that was introduced in 2017. Workers are never truly alone.
“No call is unanswered, no incident undetected,” Slater says.
