RE: MOST STOCKS EXPERIENCE THIS..... Lack of interest is because of lack of good news! BNK was trading at 5:45 to 4:60 range because they claimed 16,000 BL per day was their 2011 exit production rate and last week they said that 2012 avg. production has been only 14,220. We may see some buying activity just before their I st quaterly report.
I guess all integrated oil companies, junior oil companies and land drillers are not performing for the last 4 months due to lower natural gas prices. Natural gas must trade above $ 3 before we can see any share price appreciation for SUN, TLM, PD, GTE etc.
You have mentioned pertobakken energy PBN. Yes the stock was badly beaten in October and their parent comoany Petrobank energy PBG also suffered great losses. Although PBN pays 8 cents dividend per month = $.96 per year but market did not care and dumped this stock. Even PBG who owns 49% of PBN said that they will sell their stake if they have financial difficulty.
I think as an investor one shouldn't fall in love with these companies. If they are not performing and not doing what they promise, forget about holding long term. If investors are dumping BNK shares we must follow because you can always buy them back at lower price. Yes if you're riding in profit, you can afford holding them. I mean 16% down in a week is substantial amount.
BNK can only win investors confidence by increasing their production numbers. They have to deliver 16,000 BL/day at the end of I st quater and 18,450 BL/day at the year end to have their share price appreciated to $ 8 +. At the mean time, if energy sector gets a boost, BNK will also get a benefit.
Rather than buying more BNK shares, its better to invest in top companies like PD, TLM, PBG, PBN, TDG, CCO.
PD is trading at 11.72 and will be trading at $ 15+ in May 2012. I mean this is a kind of company you will never lose money in long term. If europian crisis is resolved, all land drillers will be flying and never look back. Please also try to invest in copper mining companies e.g. LUN and IMN. You can easily make 25% in three months.
