Warren Buffet

In 2008, amid one of the most severe financial crises in recent history, legendary investor Warren Buffett, chairman of Berkshire Hathaway, shared a piece of timeless wisdom that would resonate with investors for generations to come: “Be fearful when others are greedy, and be greedy when others are fearful.

The FEAR Index is now controlling the market.

Time to buy.

My wife and I purchased additional shares in BPO.PR.T in the last two weeks. Today, we are starting to accumulate BPO.PR.A (reset in December 2024). Even when projecting a lower "Canada 5 year" of 3% by then, it brings the annual dividend to over $1.50 for a yield exceeding 21% by then.

Hi Pierre, Your purchase of the A series is looking to be the Pick of the Week!  Up 7% today on decent volume. Who knows, maybe the trend is shifting from panic selling to panic buying?  Lol. I bought more of the N series today.   Best of luck, Carena

A little bit of luck goes a long way. BPO.PR.A shares are up 13% today on well above volume (short covering maybe).  I do not expect that performance every day but it is fun to see once in a while

Pierre, The documentation of history is a wonderful thing. You were buying in October and some were selling in October! Well done! Have a great weekend. Carena

"The documentation of history is a wonderful thing." You are correct. From time to time I like to review old posts from some posters. Being retired I have all the time in the world. For example, from a poster I will not name: Jun 26, 2023 12:21pm "Interest and Hospitality Expense seemed to take a jumpup.   Just checking BPY's income statement.   I can ...more

Sometimes one gets lucky. We started buying BPO.PR.A on October 30th 2023 at $7.16 (yield was 16.45% at that time), We kept on buying in November, December and January. This morning they are trading at $12.49 We know that trend will not last but it feels good to get lucky with timing from time to time. Now let's see with my projection for BPO.PR.T comes true: $17 within two months based on ...more

Pierre, it wasn't luck.  You researched and decided the reward was worth the risk.   Luck is throwing a dart at any stock to pick it and crossing your fingers.   All just my opinion/view/thinking
