Is BPY a "standalone" company? Wasn't it Privatized?

Is BPY a "standalone" company? Wasn't it Privatized? When BN owns basically 100% of the voting shares, is this not now basically part of BN?

If I personally own 100% of a company CrazyTrader.INC......   Because CrazyTrader.INC is a corporation, does that shelter me personally from all liabilities of the corporation dispite me basically controlling it?    I can make CrazyTrader.INC do anything and I personally not held liable???

Same goes with BPO?

All just my opinion/view/thinking/wondering about the "spirit" of the law if it still applies or if most like everything else, gone Crazy.
