RE:Arb spread starting to narrowchigs1975 wrote: has been about 30c +/- a few pennies since deal announced. Today was first meaningful narrowing. Further narrowing is indication that the deal will go through. Not that further indication was needed. I think plain vanilla shareholders (the ones that have not bailed) will want the deal to go through. And arb players definitely want the deal to go through.
Soon I will be a BTE shareholder...
Sold some of my BTE for a very small gain, so minimal tax issues, in my account, purchased same RRX at 1.36 ratio in my wife's account. Pocketed the arb difference to the tune of about $4000 and moved margin interest expense deduction to my wife who can use all of it. I am hitting the alternative minimum tax nonsense, so a long term goal is to move much of the margin debt to her name. Win, win, and win.
