It takes 2 minutes to look at the financial books. BTE equity was about twice that of RRX. BTE production was about twice that of RRX. But RRX shareholders ended up owning over half of the company.
When the merger was announced, share price took a dive, for both companies. That should have been your first clue.
But people are sheep, many still think the merger was good.
All just my opinion.
You may be right in your assessment. However it is all history. The merger. What one paid for BTE in the past. One's ACB. The only question that matters is "Is BTE a reasonable investment today at ~3.50/share? I asked this qiestion of OSB when it was under $12. I asked it of MX when it was $8. I asked it of BBD.B at $0.97 and $1.15. I asked it of TECK.B at $5. I asked it of ECA at numbers that don't come to mind now, but which made me a fortune. I have gotten very wealthy asking this question on a regular basis of all my "losers".
