Market dislocation

Oil is up 4% at the moment and most of my O&G companies are down.  Wild market these days.

I would think that the Finance minister announcing a tax on share buybacks is a factor here.  That was one of the means oil companies were using to increase share price.  We still have dividend increases.

Doubt that a 2% tax on future buybacks is responsible for a 4-5% drop in sp today.

How many times do you have to read it. It's overbought. Profit taking. Pretty normal. Stocks get bought and sold.

This tax on buybacks is totally political, pretending to be beating up on energy.  They are so ignorant and very corrupt.  Many companies have used buybacks to offset shares issued to employees as incentives.  A good use of the shares.  Likely Freeland doesn't know this.  It is a shame we have such a destructive government.
