Huge production growth of light oil selling at a premium to WTI from these "tier 2" assets as one poster declared earlier this week.

I hope Marathon Oil does not bid and steal Baytex+Ranger for a 20% premium on current price , which would be   $.6.6 CAD . Fingers crossed

Investor's that bailed out last week are going to have seller's remorse before the end of 2023. Production growth of 10% in Q4 for Ranger and another 10% growth in production during the first half of 2023.  Ranger Oil Reports Q3 Results  https://ir.rangeroil.com/press-releases/detail/387/ Henke continued, "As we turn to the fourth quarter, we have a number of exciting ...more

A company in the public market, is exactly the same as a man's private and most sacred body part.  It's main purpose is to grow and produce. Not to just hang around . Or else it just gets beaten badly!!!

There are different opinions about this deal, personally I am not in favour of this deal because I am not convinced if Ranger Oil was doing well, so why they agreed to a deal with almost no premium? In other words if we believe BTE is doing well would we accept a take over with no premium? Obviously if oil goes up from here SP will gradually go up, but at what magnitude when there are 860 M shares ...more

So to cut to the cheese you sold or were never holding?

I did not sell, unfortunately I am holding BTE since 2016 while I initially bought it at $6.25ish and bought MEG at the same time around $6.75ish, CVE around $13.38 and SU around $35, but I made a mistake to sell MEG and CVE and added more BTE and SU just thinking that these 2 are way undervalued, now 7 years later look at MEG and CVE and where is BTE. I should have sold BTE when it touched $9 ...more

Dont sweat it pal im sure other investors might hold stocks out of regret while they disagree with company direction Sounds like a winning strategy. I might just change my opinion of you

Why does there need to be a premium? Both sides must be happy that the deal reached is fair.    Juniper Capital Advisors control 54% of Ranger stock. The US$13.31 cash part of this deal might have been exactly what Juniper was looking for. Why does Juniper want to reduce their Ranger position? I don't know and I don't care. Maybe they had a green revelation and need to reduce ...more

Ranger oil generated $57.8M of FCF in Q3 with average oil price of around $92, so this means 11 quarters (almost 3 years) at $92 oil to pay its 600M debt and not buyback and no dividend, so let's see what is Ranger' FCF in Q4 with around $82 average oil price and Q1 2023 oil is even lower, so Q4 results will give us  a clear indication of Ranger performance.
