Looking to buy some Baytex but few questions

Just following the price down lately I may looking get some of those Baytex puppies , so I'm looking for some extra tips
1- would it be better wait until the 27 dec to buy so the tax loss is over
2 - does oil normally go low at the end of December
3- if the Saudi flood the market I understand they will cut dividend for sure and old buy back to pay the bills and shut canadien heavy oil to focus on light oil production in USA but how long they can last at 50$ oil

Tax loss selling is usually done by mid-December, however oil is usually in less demand until April. By it in tranches and complete your position by February.

BTE has been a dog of the sector i dont expect that to change where as MEG and ATH have been the strength of the sector i dont expect that to change, as to oil here.

Y'a agree with you Meg was at 3$ in 2020 went up to  25$ , Baytex go a lot of share out , seem a management issues here but again they can buy a lots of shares and Meg no dividend and no shares buyback much in 2023 share slow down by 6 millions so far , but Baytex still have more torque upside , a new management maybe something they should look for .

I think so too, BTE still has more torque upside because BTE has been beated so much and after  Juniper out of the way and  the buyback  and the left over  around 600 millions of share , we should be around $10 just to  compare with CPG. But until there, I am on the watch to buy more  with the TFSA in the beginning of 2024 and but of course in my regular account  ...more

If trump win I'm sure he will destroy Iran and maduro , and what's lost from these 2 , USA will pick up the share , I'm sure it will be positive for the oil market , he will replanish the reserve but one thing for sure oil will never pass 70$ ......it will be a sh.......it show , Biden may be better option for oil price but it won't be pretty lol

Not sure how the price of oil will perform if Trump wins a second term, but one thing he brags about during his first term is low gas prices. "Drill Baby Drill" sounds like "Supply Baby Supply". Then again, in my view, predicting the average price of oil over the course of a calendar year is an "educated" guessing game at best.

Marty is very simply just a soft basher. Talks long but thinks oil will be between 50 and 70. Would anybody here be a buyer(long) if they thought WTI was going to $50. COME ON MAN

Well he doesn't have any, but certainly wants in, prefarably at the incredibly low prices that it sold at on Thursday during retail panic. There are thousands like him now, attracted by the rapid fall in the share price of a cash producing monster.  Greed is driving the bus again, so share price should rise as all these "new" investors eventally succumb to their greed and give ...more
