A nice start . . . with a question for you

A nice start . . . with a question for you

Good evening Mr. Tracker on 02 Jan. 2013,

I did not expect to have a chance to get into Tag Oil below 6 dollars per share.  I am aware of the prodcution growth story, and I note that there is a normal course issuer bid.  So the downside risk seems not to be great at this level.  So I am a happy holder of some TAO shares.  We shall see what the future holds.  (I trust that you have not exited since you posted a message about this name around the middle of December.  If instead you see dark clouds at Tag Oil, I hope you will let me know.)

I am interested in Guardian Capital.  The trading volume is light in the non-voting shares under the symbol GCG.A; the trading volume in the voting shares is very light.  You already be familiar with this company.  The PE is not low (approximately 15), but asset managers generally trade at elevated PE's; and this company has, in my judgment, other favorable features, especially if you are a believer in the Bank of Montreal.  If you look at the balance sheet and accompanying notes for Guardian Capital, you will see what I mean.

I suppose that today was a "rising-tide-lifts-all-boats" kind of day, but I was pleased to see a little rise in Sandvine, SVC.

I think we had a $0.075 per-share ex-dividend in CET last week.  The shares moved back to $6.00 on an intra-day basis today.  You must be delighted about the bargain price that you paid for some additional shares a few weeks ago.

robert
