Interfor, in their financial report said "Management suggested that opportunistic buyback activity could be augmented with special dividends if outsized FCF generation continues."
This could be said for most of the lumber producers.
Wouldn't that be nice.

With March futures up $24.40 t0 940 US would qualifyas another day of outsizes free cash lflow(FCF)generation. IFP earned $2.47 in the 4th Quarter. I would expect that CFP will slightly beat that numer. Expect CFP to slightly surpass that number.When buyers are more concerned about supply than price ,it does not suggest a short term market condition.Todays action suggests uneducted profit taking.

I wouldn't hold your breath for a special dividend from Canfor as long as Jimmy is alive. He hates the notion of returning capital to shareholders.

Agree.  Anything is possilbe of course, but Canfor is the lowest probability that this happening of anyone in the sector.  That is based on their comments in past CC's, focus on growth above all esle, and Jimmy's majority position meaning dissenting voices don't have sway.  It's a bit of a case study in the Agent-Principle Problem of finance TBH.
