Something is very wrong, Emily Powers?
As you all know, I earlier today made reference to Chemtrade's Health and Safety Programs and the link provided to their 2020 Sustainability Supplement from their website, It has since been "firmly" brought to my attention to look a little deeper into the actual numbers, specifically Contractor First Aid Rates, per 100 employees
In the 2020 Sustainability Supplement, the FAT rates are as follows;
2018 - 11.05
2019 - 5.97
2020 - 1.5
As can be seen from the material provided on Chemtrade's website, it looks like Chemtrade was doing a great job at reducing First Aid rates for contractors.
If you now look at the AIF issued for the 2021 year, the published Contractor First Aid Rate is;
2021 - 1.45
Wow, the number is even better!
The problem is, according to the newest AIF issued just this past March, those rates for 2020 & 2021 are bogus! The following are the new numbers published in Chemtrade's 2022 AIF:
2020 - 10.5
2021 - 9.19
2022 - 9.87
Therefore, looking at what I believe to be now the correct numbers, also puts Chemtrade's published 2019 First Aid Rate of 5.97 into serious doubt.
The first question that has to be asked to Emily Powers, since she is in charge of Human Resources and Responsible Care, just how did this happen? Are the updated First Aid numbers from the 2022 AIF report correct? Are there any other incident numbers from the last 5 years that are not correct? Finally, why were these descrepancies not clearly pointed out in any of the information released by Chemtrade?
