I don't think that Brookfield will allow much if any dividend.  You could consider the debentures if you want income.  CHR.DB.C has a yield to maturity of about 10%.

I don't think you will see the dividend back while they are trying to buy back 10% of their shares (I believe the max allowed). Why would they make it more expensive to do so as this would probably drive up the stock price. It ends in November I believe but if buying the max allowed each trading day it could be August. Don't forget they issued over 18 million warrants as part of the deal ...more

From RBC "Investor Day in March. Mgmt highlighted they will be hosting their first- ever Investor Day in Toronto on March 29th. The company plans to showcase its growth strategy and vision moving forward. We expect long- term guidance to be presented as well as a roadmap for the potential resumption of the dividend" As I said in a previous post, I'm not expecting much if any ...more
