However, I do agree with his thesis on returning free cash flow to shareholders. He wasn't astute enough to follow his own advice and now has two major holdings (TVE and BTE) that have plummeted since making acquisitions. He now only wishes he had stuck with us to reap the +10% yield.
I have no problem with buybacks as long as they actually happen. Unfortunately CJ hasn't done so since Q3 2022 and when questioned won't commit to any. It does seem like a ploy to appease shareholders at this point but they're losing my patience. If they won't buyback shares then it's time to give free cash flow back through an increased dividend. My opinion only.
