Colorado

Description:

Rehabilitation

of

existing

mine,

and

Developmental

Mining.

Bates

Rock

Slopes

Project.

Performance

details:

This

project

began

as

both

an

Exploration

and

a

Rehabilitation

Project.

Work

commenced

on

both

Slope

Support

and

Ventilation

on

April

22

and

was

completed

mid---August.

Work

included

the

Clean

Up

and

Recovery

of

12

Major

Roof

Falls

on

31%

Slopes.

In

addition,

TK

removed

the

old

48---inch

Belt

System

and

installed

a

new

60---inch

Conveyor.

The

existing

Crosscuts

and

Slopes

were

widened

by

means

of

drilling

and

blasting

while

development

of

new

Crosscuts

and

Track

Curve

was

completed.

Construction

of

the

second

Main

Belt

and

Main

Line

Seals

was

also

established.

TK

Mining

developed

and

received

MSHA

approval

for

all

NECC

Mine

Plans

and

is

projected

to

produce

three

million

clean

tons

of

metallurgical

coal

a

year

by

the

fourth

quarter

of

2012.

In

June,

2011,

TK

Mining

will

do

1700

feet

of

rock

slope

driveage

in

the

Bates

Portals.

TK

expects

to

be

in

coal

production

in

September

of

2011.

TK

anticipates

running

three

continuous

miner

supersections.
