year, it will be sold just like western coal, grand cache coal and soon enough walter energy.  Coking coal is in demand without a doubt.

Production is not the problem, Dennis Mraz has production under control and the prep plant is running well.  Sales, and by connection, liquidity are all that matter now.  Cline IS taking down $25mm of debt on 4/30/12, that's a fact and nothing has changed.  The base case going forward is as follows: A reasonable assumption is that Cline ...more

Gunns Great Post Looking at the technical report on cline's website, SEE TABLE 23-7 for economic model.  The model has cline's cost at approx 68 / short tonne excluding transport.  The prices for Free on Rail (after paying for transport of $30-$40 per tonne) range from 120-160 with most yrs at $140 per short tonne Free on Rail. Gunns, your overall cost at 115 already includes all ...more

GUNSS. How do you know that Dennis Mraz has production under control and that the prep plant is running well? Wishful thinking on your part. I also don't believe for one nano second that Cline's cost per ton will be what was stated in the technical report. Since that report was written mining costs for all producers have escalated. Mining is a complicated business and there are many ...more

GUNSS: Why would you deduct 75 mil. debt from EBITDA in coming up with share price? If you invest in CMK mainly for it's takeout potential, yes I agree that using EBITDA is appropriate, but not for calculating shareprice. EBITDA is useful for buyers to compare apples to apples and also to extract free cash flow numbers from operations to help calculate how much debt can be supported if ...more

He is getting at enterprise value. Would 2 companies be both the same at 20M ebitda if one had 75M in cash and the other no cash and 50M in debt?

GUNSSs post on CMK in 07/2011.   RE: RBC Analyst is WRONG...       Awesome stuff, well done Eigen337! I've spoken on several occasions, including very recently, with the COO of Cline Mining.  Both he and the CFO are very, very well informed on this topic.  I also have spoken with Cline's Chief Marketing officer.  He ...more

So GUNNS  posts on July 2011 how he has spoken to the COO and he tells him things are going well. GUNNS feels even better about his investment yet in Oct 2011 the COO sells a significant amount of shares. hmm. I hate to say it ARK but you're grasping at straws.Cline isn't at $.82 a share for no good reason.I just don't trust anything what this management team says especially when ...more

Enterprise value is market cap + debt

mr1 - it's been pain for many posters here. hate mgmt left shareholders in dark, allowing SP diving without even a single word. anyway, if COO was selling in Oct 2011, right after they sold Lossan to fund NECC, appears doesn't make sense anyway. only my thought.
Comment by shane117 on Apr 24, 2012 4:18pm
It's only worth around $100,000. He probably sold to buy Christmas gifts and pay bills. I'm not concerned that he sold only 45,000 shares. 400,000 or 1.4mil would concern me.
Comment by cooper90 on Apr 24, 2012 4:36pm
mr1derful.......Bates has not sold a single share...he has 8,000,000 shares and 5% owns 5% of the float. All management options, both grants (at different times last year) which got all of us up in arms.....are now completely underwater and worthless. If you don't sell you haven't lost any money unless they go brankrupt which IMO is not happening. I am not discounting ...more

cooper where do you get 8 million shares from??? on the SEDI website it says he has 1.8 million shares and 2 million in options right now, i agree with the other stuff you said, obviously its in their interests to make money on their options.   but 8 million shares??? dont know hwere you got this info from.
Comment by cooper90 on Apr 24, 2012 4:48pm
Thanks ckstar83................yes for the record I made a mistake.........meant 1.8 not 8 million shares.......opps.....I stand corrected That's what I get for being too busy and not looking over before hitting the send button..... You see what my point is though right!
Comment by mr1derful on Apr 24, 2012 4:50pm
I just pointed out Dennis' last sales. He exercised 300,000 options and he has sold 240,000 shares at prices ranging from $2,80-$4.00. He only holds 63,000 shares. Given that the stock is $.83 a share look for the management to mortgage up their houses and buy big. Ha ha ha ha. Also, Dennis isn't the only insider to have sold shares. I'm sorry but no credible management team just sits ...more

Sorry, Cooper but Mr. Bates has sold shares. Go look on SEDI

Cooper, quit b.s.ing about making a typo. Here's your post from April 13th   At last check Bates had over 8,000,000 million shares and 5% of the company float, in the last 4 x months he has lost on paper over $10,000,000 million dollars based on my estimates - over 24,000,000 on paper in the last 20 x months alone
Comment by miner8740 on Apr 24, 2012 4:58pm
you are missing the point everyone is hung up in options and shares that management, so what it is a moot point at this stage the issue now is that the market is telling us something about CMK which may not be good we are not getting signals from management in their reporting stucture for the recent sell off why is everyone selling did news leak out time will only tell  but can sh wait before ...more

i get your point cooper, thats just a big mistake of about 6 million plus shares difference. hahhaaha, i'd imagine it was a mistake........   the thing that people forget is the volatility you get whne you invest in something related to the steel industry........it seems as though the steel industry is very much correlated with the macro environment where a 10% drop in steel consumption ...more

if sth in negative materially occurred, the April 12 release from the mgmt will put them in trouble.  it is literrally misleading. I can't image they can be fool like this.

Miner8740....look at all the other juniors doesn't matter who....they are all down huge. If you want a specific coal example look at Pacific coal today....again down another 10% also....they are all getting hit huge, even mid-caps are down big........I am not convinced CMK is any different until I hear from management on progress and cash balances....

Mr1derful; get a ticket and get in line. You are not the first to come on this board spouting how the lack of buying from management when the SP is depressed is an indictment of something fundamentally wrong with the company. I've been in CMK since 2004-05 and have followed this company every day since. In all that time, management has never bought any stock in the open market, except for one ...more

Comment by ark88 on Apr 24, 2012 8:05pm
Cooper; how can anyone in all honestly answer that question. All I can say is I've been here before with half dozen coal stocks in the last 6-8 years, most notably WTN when it collapsed to .60. I intend to add a big chunk, when exactly I do not know. I will continue to hold/add CMK for the eventual buyout. That's been my only interest with CMK, period. If my take is correct, yes $2   ...more
