Hedges are there to reduce volatility and risk. They're not there to maximize the company's profits. Unless you only hedge successfully in moments when prices go down, you'll also lose money when you hedge too low in times when prices go up.
I don't care about short-term variations. I'm in for the long haul. Over time, the company's real value will be realized and paid out in dividends. That's going to happen no matter what short-term stock price variations occur.
