Are Crew's 8-1 and 12-9 Pads a Cube Style Development?

Old Nagger I took a closer look at slide 31 in Birchcliff's presentaion
and I now believe that perhaps Crew is attempting a Cube Style approach for completing multiple Montney zones with the new 8-1 and 12-9 Pads. These Pads are drilling 10 wells to adjacent bottom hole locations at 2-10 and 7-10.

If you look at slide 31 in Birchcliff's presentation they used 14 wells to exploit 3 separate Montney zones. Crew could easily used their 10 wells to exploit 1, 2 or 3 Montney zones using the Cube strategy also.

Nice find Oldnagger, I apologize for being so quick to dismiss your idea. After looking at Encana's Cube approach, I took a second look at Birchcliff's and then the bottom hole locations on the Crew Pads and it all made sense.

If we are correct Oldnagger, that 8-1 Cube will have some freakin huge production rates with lower declines as it would be draining multiple reservoirs more effectively.

Fingers crossed that's what Crew is up to. Things just keep getting better.

Here is the Birchcliff Presentaion link if the one I embedded doesn't work.

If I got this right it is only because I sat on a bag of horseshoes ! You are the one who is doing all the work and creativity . More power to you !! One caveat , I noticed from Birchcliff that these cube type wells need to be brought on rather slowly in order to minimze interference between them. Looking forward as always to all you can offer us !!

Thanks for sharing.  This is completely outside my area of expertise.  I am trying to learn.  :-)

That’s really cool technology but man what a headache that must be to produce. Can imagine the potential scale and wax issues from mixing different zones.

Could be why they're holding their cards so close to the vest lately... sounds reasonable to think they're at least trying to duplicate Birchcliff and Encana's success..??
