Thanks for the reply. I'm not sure that I would read too much into this lack of a news release about the upcoming earnings.
I'm guessing that companies have to pay CNW (or whomever) to issue a news release, and I'm not sure what the cost is. CRH may have simply been trying to save the administrative cost.
For what it's worth, barring any seriously negative news, I've also made a decision to hold CRH through this volatile period in the markets,
Having said that, I am aware that the markets are extremely skittish these days, and stocks seem to sell-off with just the slightest hint of any negative news on the horizon. Under these circumstances, investors have a right to get nervous in advance of earnings releases, and I'm hoping that CRH doesn't experience a snap sell-off like what has happened to certain stocks (like LinkedIN); but such is life in the stock market... no risks then no reward!
