The irony here is that Booker said “what is really frustrating me is I thought that legalizing marijuana would have a democratizing force on our country, and it has not.”

The reality is that Booker and his attempts to attatch a social reform agenda was a major factor in the failure to pass legallization. He could have worked with banks and grassroots funding strategies to fulfil his social priorities after legalization but instead thought it would be easier to pass a magic bill that fixes society. Naive at best, incompetence in reality that has just compounded the issues he says he cares about. Come on Book, less talk, get to work.
