The New York's Cannabis Control Board voted unanimously Tuesday to approve adult-use licensing to cultivate or sell marijuana. Starting Oct. 4, adults can temporarily apply for the license on the New York Business Express platform.

Businesses owned by women, people of color, disabled veterans and other applicants will get financial support navigating the process.
