CANEXUS CORP 6.5 PCT DEBS > Payout Ratio 354%!

Post by Kherson on May 08, 2014 7:07am

Payout Ratio 354%!

After the 4th Quarter results were released about 2 months ago, I clearly pointed out that the real Payout Ratio was according to my calculations 208%, due to the fact that Canexus did not include those new shares that they issued earlier this year. Well, the Payout Ratio for this quarter is now up to 354%! That is Canexus' own figures on page 3 of the quarterly report...
Folks, I have stated many times over the last 4 months to stay away from these clowns. Today you are all about to realize that I was right. It might be a good time for the BOD to resign...
Nawar, you are a smart man, but man you sure did get this one wrong. I would hope that you delay releasing your book  as 2014 is proving that you too have no clue about Canexus or the Markets.

Kherson - You had absolutely no analysis - other than rantings, conspiracy theories, and crazy allegations....but nothing you said had any substance whatsoever.  I would still bet my life savings on Nawar than a nickel on you.  I said in my last post - the likelyhood of a dividend cut was 80% in my opinion - and that you would take credit for it. It looks like you proved me right. ...more

Ocean,  no analysis on my part? Really? I have been saying for quite sometime that last quarter's Payout Ratio was actually 208%. Last night's NR of this quarter's payout ratio of 354% has just proven me correct! Ocean, as the stock price drops like a rock today, please keep posting and telling folks that I am wrong and have no substance in my call on Canexus as they ...more

My last response Kherson (since I dont want to bore this site with my replys to your posts). a) You never did show your calculation for 208% - instead - you asked this board to help verify your assertion some time ago.  I don't beleive anyone else came up with 208% (which seemed to contradict the numbers reported by Canexus - so something definately fradulant must be going on according ...more

Actually Ocean I did show my calculation. I used the numbers that of course Canexus provided, but I also included the additional shares that the company issued in 2014. My line of reasoning at the time and still is that Canexus did not use the correct share number for their 4th quarter payout ratio, hence the 354% ratio now... You can wait until 2016 for the price to correct itself? Good luck with ...more

354% geez anyone that claims that using one time capital costs as part of the math is clearly out his/her element in the stock market,  what a dumb statement. Usually darkest before the dawn,  dividend cuts often mark the bottom when a stock has had a setback like CUS has had this past few months.  Next quarter they will be able to talk about the terminal being very close to ...more

Beckyboss, you might want to pay close attention to today's stock price. The market will be more interested with what Canexus has presented today, rather than what they might do next quarter. Heck, even the Village Idiot is now saying that it would be best for Canexus to eventually sell Blunderheim... Kherson P.S. Re-read page 3 of the quarterly report. Last quarter the Payout Ratio ...more

Market knew this was coming...panic selling by retail this morning and that's why dividend cut's do often mark a significant bottom.

After a night of wine, women and song I have had an opportunity to revisit Canexus' numbers. What is astonding to me is that if Canexus had not cut their dividend, their payout ratio would have been 484%. So, the payout ratio would have gone from 208% to 484%! It does look like the first quarter was a disaster indeed... Kherson
