carib and eps

carib and epsHey carib...............as far as I am concerned there is nothing wrong with asking a question. I already try and educate my kids regarding the market (they r 12 and 14). My first experience with a broker was awful........I was talked out of buying Chrysler when it was on the verge of bankruptcy and was dirt cheap. I was young and had $2000 to invest and not only did he talk me out of it, the clown embarassed me by calling over other brokers in the office so they could offer their two bits..i felt shamed but look who was rt!! Anyway eps stands for earning per share and there was a recent post regarding cvi's. I can't recall it but it was higher than the one posted by stockhouse when u pull of their chart on cvi. EPS is reported by the company quarterly as part of the accountability involved in being a publicly traded company. The company reports what it earns and the more common eps figure used is that of the yearly one. A company if it does not make money can have a negative eps so to speak in that it does not make money. A lot of the small junior oil companies and mining companies at first do not make money but due to their prospects will soon be making money and thus r the ones u want to find!! Hope this helps........ps I got blasted on another board for not doing my due diligence when I did not know the name of the frickin mountain (i confused it with the hbm stock) where the companies mines r.......UNBELIEVABLE..........anyway i think sometimes we have to remember there are always new investors so we should take the time to try and explain things to them. If u need more clarification feel free to inbox me but i'm sure if u r thinking a question someone else out there probably is thinking it too.
