How could that many shares switched hands without a major impact on SP?

That's a good sign. Short term investors taking profits by selling. But plenty of buyers so no one had to sell for less. Often, after a stock goes up a bit, those who want to take profits start selling a lot which inevitably drops the price a bit

Some entitiy wanted to sell a ton or one wanted to buy a ton to initiate it.  Regardless, they found a willing counter party/parties.  As i previously have mentioned, there was ~100-200M shares traded of moz between 50-70 cents (81-1.13 CXB) in the 4th qtr of 2023. at the very least, it just means shares fell into stronger hands.  you don't buy a chunk like that only looking

Brokers coordinate to buy and sell time of prevaiing market price. Sales will go through as soon as share are put up. Everything is prearranged. The exchange is simply used as the medium to facilitate the trades.
