The politicians want to be re-elected and the public have pitchforks. I also expect they will draw on their revolver. If this happens, everything is off the table. No one will believe guidance and you can stick a fork in this earlier than even i thought. As i said before, i may have taken a stab and covered to short higher on a bounce, but with the end of quarter bias on my side, i wouldn't dare given we could get news anytime. There is way more than meets the eye at first glance when looking at "adjusted earnings" and such on this pig. They are amortizing weak assets over 15 years instead of 10. This makes book value higher in the short term, but makes it very likely for huge write downs in the coming quarters. As a bonus, class action lawsuits start in the first week of October when the fun of September ends. I could go on, but you should be getting the picture by now.
