The sector has been under wolf pack shorting by edge funds who pay writers and analysts ro downgrade the sector  and produce contrived analyst reports that are eventually found to be worthless. Canadian Pharmas have been targeted. They have wreaked needless havoc causing billions to be wiped off market caps. It's true. These US Hedgefunds saw the weakness overall in the sector, so they short the headline names (many of these funds already target Valeant even when there is no sector selloff, so this is a perfect oppounirty for them) and then pay these bucket shop analysts to write false reports.  These reports then feed off the recent headlines and nervousness and it creates havoc (people ...more

Dear CJAlberta, I lived in Montreal-Quebec. Valeant is US company but headquarter is in Laval-near Montreal, Quebec.So, I am speaking french after 12 years there. Working for Valeant only one year is so intense, like working for another company 2 years! They are moving quickly. I moved one year ago in Alberta, so I have my house there, I love Alberta! Andrew Macreath stated today that there was a notorious US short seller attacking the stock. The sell off may have had little to do with vrx but it certainly didn't help. This is like a small penny stock to a big hedge fund so best to stay clear and let them have there way with the stock. They could literally drive it down to $15 of $20 if they feel like it.
