I have no idea how many funds will include CXR in their portfolio as a result of this decision. But, IBB alone looks like it will be buying about 700,000 shares of CXR at current values. Again, no idea how soon they will be doing this. So, taking all biotech funds in consideration, the impact should be very positive to CXR sp over the short term.

from previous observation in similar situations, the buying is done days and days beforehand.

How would an order for 700,000 shares by executed? Wouldn't that drive up the SP?

I did read last week that the addition to the index has a positive effect on a companies share price but interestingly the removal did not. I tried to locate this document (from credible source) this am but cannot find it. I has hoping to get more detail and a link to share. Sorry.

Sorry. I remember know it was in reference to the high beta index. I can only assume the addition to the biotech index will have the same or greater effect. Knowing this, some will want to get in ahead of the crowd thereby adding early pressure on SP up IMO.
