WTF Happened at the close?

CXR dropping into the final 15 min and at the bell - WHACK! 1/2 million shares dropping to loss on the day 1.75% from the open. In the US CXRX ended up 1.75% with a similar amount traded at the bell? I need a pro (or a psychologist) to explain this to me.

sunshine; MOC happens every day but especially volatile on options expiration. Google Market on Close for all details.

I see that. The 3d Friday each month. Are there times when MOC closes higher? How does one use this information for trading purpose?

https://www.tmxmoney.com/en/moc/Moc.html every day at 3:40 this comes out; some stocks are buys;some sells; if you see a big buy number of shares , you can set a high price hoping it will take you. Vice versa for big sells. Put in a stink bid hoping it will fill you . But you will only be able to trade them the following day.
