they loaded up mid May knowing the auction deadline was the end of the month and also knowing that Blackstone and Carlyle were not really interested. the increase was nominal from the last update of 9.4m short - everything was set for their bid  removal and they knew they could spin the headline to allow for a huge cover - they just had to sit and wait, ..........................although

How can a short graph be up to date when it is only published every 2weeks + 1 week delay? How does one access real time data?

you need to find the video on bnn.. I doubt they would cover 9M shares in a single day. TSX short interest is 700K past two weeksx2 reporting CB
