RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:332000 shares for sale at 52 centsI believe he is quoting Stephen Tackascy on BNN the first time he had D-Box as his top pick.
Stephen said, (and I'm paraphrasing) - "D-Box is the only company in the world that are allowed to code Hollywood movies with motion, and they have patents on it etc etc."
But Stephen was wrong when he said it. They aren't the only one's that can code movies with motion. What D-Box has, is exclusive rights to code the motion THEIR way. 4DX delivers the motion encoding in a different fashion. It was kind of exagerrated when Tackacscy said it and he didn't really have his facts completely straight on it.
BUT - nonetheless, I'm willing to bet, that how 4DX codes their movies probably infringes a bit on D-Box's patent. I'm just speculating here, but let's be realistic. There are only a few ways that motion can be coded in these movies to ensure everything is synchronized (i.e. using the soundtrack as your framework etc.) and I'm sure there is overlapping going on.
D-Box was first out with this technology so 4DX might have some 'splainin' to do to the courts one day if D-Box was to pursue any legal action. I personally hope they do sue their arses off just so we can get rich. HA!
