IMAXJust came back from watching Dunkirk in IMAX. This was my first IMAX experience.
Here's my take on IMAX.
What a ripoff. And I'm not saying this because I'm biased on D-Box. People here talk about D-Box being expensive and not worth the price etc.....IMAX is completely not worth the price and why its so popular I will not understand.
First of all, its not real IMAX, and that's why people nickname it, LieMax - That's because the screen is not a "real" full size IMAX screen at Cineplex. The screen is marginally bigger than the UltraAVX screen.
The one good thing was the sound. That was good.
I was going to go see Dunkirk in D-Box and now I wish I had because after watching all these scenes in the movie, it would have been perfect for D-Box.
At least with D-Box, you really get immersed and get something out of it for the price. With IMAX, you don't leave saying, "Oh I'm so glad I saw this in IMAX."
Now Dunkirk the movie on the other hand, was very well done and a cool movie. I give it 8/10.
Come on IMAX....buy us out. You need us now more than ever.
