Covid cases are rising again in all 50 U.S. states as the delta variant tightens its grip

This rocked the markets on Monday, but the market quickly recovered. I think, however, the headlines will continue to rattle us around. But... keeping an eye on the ball here, the vaccine is working. Digging down into the article, this one line says it all...

"The overwhelming majority of serious Covid cases — 97% of hospital admissions, and 99.5% of Covid deaths — are occurring among those who are not vaccinated"

Covid is becoming a pandemic of the unvaccinated. As long as cases and more importantly hospitalizations and deaths of the vaccinated do not increase substantially, take advantage of the media's game of fear and buy the big dips!

People gotta stop watching tv and listening to the BS.... amazed how many people  i talk to think they are bulletproof and cant get the virus after they have had 2 shots.  IN Israel new cases are just about  as high in fully vaccinated as those with none. None of us are immune from catching covid even vaccinated. Anyone thinking otherwise is misreading the headlines. The goal of vaccines was always to keep people from dying and out of hospital and that is what is working.

I find it odd that once it became apparent that the vaccines aren't protecting people from getting covid, the true purpose of the vaccines is revealed to be to reduce symptoms and keep people out of hospitals. Am I the only one who believed that the vaccines were intended to prevent the spread of covid-19?

I had always understood that vaccinations were to minimize the chance of spread but moreso to avoid thousands ending up on a ventilator in hospital or dying. While the vax does not turn us into super humans it is doing its job and that is still good news compared to where we were a year ago.
