Rough Diam Prices (Thur, 14 Apr) - Missed 2nd Half of ReviewRough prices are now off 2.4 per cent in the past month and are down 5 per cent since the post-COVID-19 rally peaked in mid-February. The good news, of course, is that prices are up about 25 per cent over the past five years and nearly as much over the past decade -- coincident numbers that betray the fact that the diamond sector endured a full decade of stagnation after prices hit a record high in the spring of 2011. That stagnation -- and the lack of promotable discoveries because of that stagnation -- are key reasons why a torrent of cash is not flowing into diamond exploration, at least not from Canada.
