High-yielding Diversified Royalty

The Globe and Mail reports in its Wednesday edition that Diversified Royalty may be of interest to investors seeking income given its yield of about 7 per cent. In addition to income, analysts see the share price heading significantly higher. The average share target is $4.13. The stock has a unanimous buy recommendation from four analysts. Ms. Dowty says that while you may not have heard of this small-cap stock, you likely are familiar with one or more of its six royalty partners: Mr. Lube, Air Miles, Sutton Group Realty, Oxford Learning Centres, Mr. Mikes Restaurants and Nurse Next Door. Diversified Royalty's business model is to acquire trademarks from franchisers in return for royalties based on their top line sales. Many of Diversified Royalty shareholders appreciate the high dividend yield. Last quarter, the payout ratio was a conservative 84 per cent and 90 per cent for 2021. Chief executive officer Sean Morrison believes "a payout ratio in the mid-90s is probably the right place to be as this is not a business where you need to retain capital. Investors are buying the stock for the dividend and we are prepared to give them as much cash flow as we think is sustainable."

Aha! Thx for sharing, altho a bit of a disappointment, I was hoping more something with substance in a news release or something, not just babble lol. Heard enough babble in the last 2 years for a lifetime lol. I must be jumpy still from the halt, I do appreciate you sharing it tho as I was wondering what in the world was going on. Cheers

I thoroughly enjoy any "babble" that moves this stock significantly higher.  Sean is a super smart guy.  He will steer this in the right direction snd that means higher stock prices and higher dividends!

Yes I don't feel that was a disppointment at all. It was just about the most indepth and enlightening interview for those that don't follow the company I've ever seen, and in the Globe and Mail. Plus its contents would lead one to believe 2 deals this year are a good possibility. Shirtless did you get stuck on the wrong side of a flip or something? ;-)

Lol, I have to be honest with you, before I even realized what was going on it had got into the 3.20's or you might be right, I sold one block which consisted of all at 3.30. You and I both know that this often offers up chances to get back in cheaper, I am pretty confident that will be the case again, if it isnt that's ok too, lots of fish in the water and I don't marry any of them ...more

How in the world could I get stuck on the wrong side of a flip? Lol. I certainly didnt buy at 3.30, I have literally been in and out of here since the high 1.50's. This has been milked like a cash cow, I have zero complaints about this beauty. I love this stock. Cheers

Be already out of the stock looking to get in lower when it pops

Ah. I could get back in here at 3.29 without missing a beat but I'm confident with this world we live in I can do better than that at some point, if not all good, my daughter still owns it so i honestly hope it goes to 4 and beyond. I'm currently rocking my LWRK position and recently hopped back in to CIX maybe I'll make some cash on those. Cheers.

I do agree on that sentiment, it pushed it right to the sell marker for me at 3.30. I'm happy with that for sure, will have to watch for re-entry but hope it keeps going north for the shareholders here! Cheers!
