It is a "business", but I hear it is a real "Be-atch" to explain to people like the IRS and the Canadien IRS when they compare lifestyle and income. I guess you could always claim your spouse makes all the money or your grandpa gave you 20 bucks everytime he visited and you saved them up in your piggy bank?
