Its because of Trump. He believes high commodity prices leaves less disposable income for businesses and individuals. Wants everyone to feel rich. he combines this stuff with the tax cuts.
So the wall street firms are cozying up to him are not encouraging commodiities to make him happy but just the other stocks that make up indexes ,everything except commodities. Even oil stocks are in the pits while the price of oil is high. Helping the other stocks on the indexes saves the pension funds and all 401 k hoders too.
This shithole president will eventually collapse the entire system because there is not much more disposale cash anywhere except on credit and that will dry up soon. You see Trump likes to become insolvent , stiff his creditors and start over with a clean sheet. He is doing this now with the USA. He is imposing it on us as consumers. we will all stiff our creditors soon because we just wont have enough to pay them . This will be good in a way, it will be a big reset.
