RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:climate change Nobody is denying the climate changes.. so not sure what anyone is getting at throwing the label 'climate change denier' around. The climate has changed in the past and will continue to change in the future.
The question isn't is CO2 levels increasing in the atmosphere. We know it is, that's a fact. We also know right now the earth is greener than it ever has been since we put satellites into space, that's a fact, check nasa. We also know that per acre crop yields are higher than ever before, and part of that is that CO2 helps plants to grow, that's a fact, why do you think they pump greenhouses up to about 900ppm CO2? We also know that more CO2 helps plants use less water, that's a fact. And yes CO2 acts as a blanket to trap in heat. How much it traps in is very hard to predict. Increased heat also means increased evaporation which means more clouds. Clouds greatly reduce the amount of heat at the surface. More heat also means less ice which will increase the heat. But less ice at the poles also means more trees and plant life at the poles which may very well counter having less ice. More heat will increase ocean levels mostly thanks to thermal expansion (not melting of ice like most people think, that may be 10% of the rise).
What has a far greater impact is the sun. 1 or 2% change in solar output could cook the earth or send it into a perpetual ice age. They actually believe a brief solar output dip of 2% cause the last snowball earth to happen which was one of earth deadliest extinction events killing off 99% of all life.
Climate is extremely complex. Current computers and models have trouble predicting a month out let alone 10's of years. And it's that uncertainty that has created this fear. Similar to covid, the uncertainty and fear caused the world to shut down for 3 months and then perpetual shutdowns even as evidence emerged that it wasn't particularly harmful to the young and healthy..
I didn't buy that covid was all that deadly. I bought into the market when everyone was rushing the stores pushing old people down to buy toilet paper. I made off like a bandit. Guess it pays to have a brain.
It's not scientific to shut down debate. It's not scientific to slap labels on people that have legitimate questions concerns regarding the reasoning behind current policies.
I suppose I'm a gender denier if I believe there are only 2 genders?
