Enbridge Inc > WHY Did Dominion Energy SELL The 3 Gas Utilities To ENB?

WHY Did Dominion Energy SELL The 3 Gas Utilities To ENB?

- basically, two reasons:

1- HIGH-INTEREST rates caused by the FED rate hikes to SUPPRESS INFLATION while Senile Joe is running a MAD MAX DEFICIT-SPENDING NIGHTMARE {hence the NEED to hire 87,000 HEAVILY-ARMED IRS agents}

2- a USD 350 million REGULATED RATE REDUCTION imposed in the gas utility STATE JURISDICTION meaning USD 350 million LESS IN REVENUES

- these TWO NEGATIVE FORCES will still be ABSORBED by ENB

- DO NOT FORGET that Enbridge is EXPECTED to LOSE between 300,000 and 500,000 bbls/d of NOMINATED TRANSPORT CAPACITY on the Canada Mainline pipelines to the US as a result of TMX becoming OPERATIONAL in 2024

* sure, the WCSB crude oil producers will INCREASE COP and BOP but this is EXPECTED to take 4 to 6 YEARS to ELIMINATE the EXCESS EXPORT EGRESS CAPACITY depending on the WTI and WCS prices in the near future

- I do NOT own any ENB securities

Based on your analysis, it appears to me that based on my interpretation of your comments, everyone that has ENB in their retirement accounts is in trouble. I've read that the deal was dissapointing. That leaves me wondering which shareholders were more troubled. Dominion's because they gave those businesses away too cheap or ENB's because of all the Monday morning quaterbacking. I ...more

Yup I'll keep mine and keep adding if possible. The market is skittish to big moves right now and that's why the price is down, signalling opportunity to me.  Despite what people are saying, the added debt isn't an issue. Most of Enbridge cash flow is on a gauranteed take or pay contract. Not only that but the distribution they provide is the last thing people stop using in a ...more

The Fed will raise rates a bit, but I think that'll be it for 2023. As far as buying the assets versus building out, I'd say it's a lot easier buying than building anything new. There's a huge 'greed on' going on at the moment, and the greenmail card is standing in the way of building anything new these days. It might just be a 'generational opportunity'.

I'm holding onto my shares too. ENB has raised the divi 21 times in the last 20 years, and have never missed or reduced, all the while doing deals like this along the way.
