China's Net-Zero 2060 Goal Likely To Happen A Decade Early

China’s carbon emissions have either peaked already or will do this winter, seven years ahead of schedule. They may plateau for a year or two but will then go into exponential decline for mechanical and unstoppable reasons.

The country’s target of net zero by 2060 is likely to be achieved a decade earlier than previously assumed, and perhaps earlier than in Europe.

Wow. It's like this reporter just figured out that China is leaps and bounds ahead of the West in the green transition. Hilarious.

What the $&@! planet are you on? China leaps and bounds ahead of everyone else? Everyone else has plateaued in CO2 emissions or dropping and they are leaps and bounds ahead of everyone else because they will plateau earlier than 2030? Give your head a shake. Everything the Chinese have made with the exception of gunpowder has been stollen from somewhere else. They are playing catch-up and they ...more

You must be joking. Either that or you're an idiot. I'll just post this link. Nothing further to discuss. https://www.reuters.com/markets/commodities/china-widens-renewable-energy-supply-lead-with-wind-power-push-2023-03-01

https://ourworldindata.org/co2-emissions And here is a link posting all the information regarding CO2 emissions worldwide.  You sir are an idiot if you think China is ahead of everyone because one day when the sun was shining their electrical grid had 36% renewable energy.  Canada has an electrical grid at 80% emission free production thanks to all the hydropower. But they still ...more

The biggest threat to the planet is population growth. Quite simply, humans need to stop breeding for a while, and let the planet recover.

Albatross: He is right in one respect by saying that "China is ahead of everyone" ... from the perspective that they have the highest annualized rate of increase in emissions globally ... so yea China is ahead! LOL! Adding the equivalent of two coal powered generating stations every week (or is it every day?) will do that for ya! And Minister Geebow goes to China to advise them! What a ...more

the pathetic part is the woke countries agree during the COP28 meeting to set up a slush fund to pay for climate camages to developing countries. No evidence needed just blame their woes on climate change, money will flow in.  It's just more woke idealogy where declaring oneself a victim qualify for free stuffs and money.  Where does that money goes but to the insiders. Western financial engineering is on its last legs. When it fails, the funding to fix the climate will come to an abrupt end as well. Gold and BTC is pointing to the distrust in endless money printing and debt. The West has played their game for a long time but the jig is up, and much of the world knows it.

First thing Monday morning you better sell all your shares and buy gold bars and Bitcoin  !
Comment by autofocus111 on Dec 05, 2023 6:34pm
No need to sell any shares. I've had BTC as the SHTF part of my investment porfolio for years. In 2021/22 I sold some BTC to buy Gold. Every passing day it seems the SHTF moment is getting nearer.

Ah yes, the old 'but but but China CO2 emissions'. Ignore the fact that a large amount of the CO2 is produced to supply the western world with vast quantities of material goods. Ignore the fact that China emissions per capita are far below that of USA and Canada and in-line with those of Japan and Germany. Due to rapid expansion of nuclear, wind, and solar electricity generation, China per ...more

During the cold war Molotov, a genius of propaganda said " mo matter how outrageous is a lie, if it is repeated many times, people will eventually believe them" Does the numerous reports from OTTAWA about, we humans can change the climate make that as valid as it were 60 years ago?
Comment by CanSiamCyp on Dec 02, 2023 1:31pm
Hey bttmfischer! Thanks for reminding us of that guiding principle from the Cold War era! The same principle was adopted as the foundational mission statement of the Lieberal Party of Canada ... and it has served them well for 8 years! Unfortunately, now that the proverbial you-know-what has hit the fan, it seems that Canadians have awakened from their slumber ... and now realize the truth ...more
