Pretty telling

that fossil energy boards get taken over by wackos.

Thank goodness the corporations themselves are moving green at a moderate pace - and don't listen to the old fossils.

you mean like SU selling off their renewable energy asset? you mean like shell quietly ditching their carbon credit scheme? you mean like net outflow of ESG etf since 2022? Like US lifting sanction on iranian and venezulan oil? Like germany dismantling windpower farms so they can dig for coal?

I'm all for efficiency and improving environmental measures etc... but with the whole narrative around CO2 being a big bad gas that causes all things bad on our planet I think the discussion has just been hijacked by alarmists that when questioned go around shouting 'climate denier, denier', 'right wing extremist', 'fossil loving wacko'. Just pointing out that shutting ...more

Well Albatross you don't seem to be familiar with what is really happening.  Global warming is staring us in the face.  Not just a localized event but around the whole globe.  The Artic is melting.  Images from satelites tell us that.  Recently the Antactic revealed that the ice has thinned considerabily.  This was not know until recently.  There are forest ...more

See George Carlin on climate change and the environment . I am not a climate change denier . But as George said, if you think you can change anything you are part of the problem . Nothing will change . Canada is 1.5% of the issue. Without major emitters completely reversing course nothing will change. Eating animal products is a major contributor. More than all of transportation combined . Ever ...more

The REAL CLIMATE CHANGE took place about 10000 years ago when the ice age came to an end, and as a result we have the Great Lakes in North America. How many aeroplanes were then, how many factories, how many gasoline/diesel vehicles existed? Yet the ice cover melted. This constant nonsense trumped in the media that we, humans can change the climate is idiotic, and contrary to historical events in ...more

That's why I said moderate.  It's not a straight line and it's not universal.

Shifting sands while the US argues with itself, Saudi Arabia last month mandated Mandarin lessons in all public and private secondary schools.

Yep....very telling - shows the stengthening position of China in the Middle East through inroads to both Iran and Saudi Arabia. In the US, I recently saw a clip talking about education achievement in the State of Michigan.  Apparently, based on standardized testing, only about 30-35% of the kids in school can read and write at Grade level!! Meanwhile more Woke stuff keeps getting added to ...more
