New Press Release - EDF Renewables North America and Enbridg
As far as I'm concerned there is nothing green about this project or any other ground mounted solar project. I tried to find out how many hundred acres of farmland or wildlife habitat were lost to construct this project but of course that wasn't mentioned. Would it not have been better to install these panels on top of distribution warehouses?
I'm sure the eco-zealots who are hyper focused on carbon emissions as the solution to climate change will be praising this as additional clean renewable energy and that we need more of this forgetting about the negative effects on the environment.

I wouldn't paint all ground mount arrays with the same brush. Some set-ups use sheep and goat herds to keep the grass and brush down around the arrays. As well, the ones put on land not fit for agriculture are likely not having a massive negative impact on the land.. hey maybe they even provide cover from the sun/rain for a few creatures. Just saying it's not all bad.
