RE:RE:Synthetic drips
If the shares have always been held with your stockbroker then you were always in a synthetic drip arrangement. You are only in a company sponsored drip if your holdings are managed by the transfer agent such as Computershare. In 2018 Enbridge saw that it's Drip program was a drag on its earnings per share because more and more shares were being issued from treasury. Once the treasury shares were no longer being issued the synthetic drips became MARKET Drips with no discount applicable. A more correct statement would be to say that the terms of your synthetic drip with your stockbroker changed from a treasury priced drip with discount applied to a MARKET TYPE synthetic drip based on whatever price your stockbroker was able to execute on the open market.
