Typically RO water is not mineral free and not considered demineralized enough for Steam generation-also yield is usually about 70% (dependes on water quality) and reject is concentrated. For electroysis, I suspect Ion Exchange (IX) is required to produce the demineralized quality water required. This is a much more costly and requires handling and disposal of toxic chemicals and resins.
