IPL

For anyone that cares or owns IPL they have just recieved a takeover offer of  $16.50 per share from BIPC.

Yeah I saw that! It's BIP buying them right? Everything Brookfield is beginning to gobble up the cheap competition. Just like BAM and BPY. I gotta see what else Brookfield brands might set their eyes on..

BRK are cheap bazterds. BAM are vultures. I don't want to see either of them getting their hands on ENB. If BRK moves to acquire ENB, ENB should put in a fair bid on IPL and kill both those leaches with one stone.

Well it doesn't work for me fiddy. If ENB disappears, then I'll have to roll the proceeds into another pipeline company. To me that means buying more either TRP or PPL both of which I already own. I prefer to hold 3 stocks in the sector, and these other two are the only ones I have full confidence in.

If you're lucky they'll offer $18 a share for Keyera.  LOL

Yeah, It's not enough.  Once the Heartland faciltiy is complete IPL is worth twice that and they already have the funding to complete it themselves.  It's a lowball offer that will be rejected.  They only own 20% not like the 65% of BPY.UN they owned.

Fantome  wrote A lot depends on how the institutional investors will vote.  I haven't owned IPL for a while...sold somewhere in the 20s.  At the that time...they were facing issues regarding the finacing of Heartland and the math for their divy innrelation to their DCF was getting too stretched for my liking and so I sold my stake.  Prior to that I had been a shareholder ...more

BIP indicated they had already approached IPL management with offers in the $17 to $18.25 range, and IPK this morning released a statement confirming the previous offers in that range, which they rejected.  Given that, the $16.50 looks like a lowball bid, which BIP knows will not fly, but then they will come in with a higher offer hoping that shareholders will go for it when they see the ...more
