CNN reporters are all over this story.  I'm quite sure the Americans are thinking all the cold up in Canada has frozen our brains, and that we're a country full of ice age Neanderthals.  Anyone can pull a trigger, it takes a Canadian to chase down 25 people and shove a blade in them. Go Can-Er-DUH Go !!! https://www.cnn.com/2022/09/05/americas/saskatchewan-canada-stabbing ...more

I belive folding knives are banned in Canada . I havent seen them enforce it yet though. I bought a nice  knife at Sail and the guy said thats the last theyre selling due to the ban.  From Wiki: The Canadian Criminal Code criminalizes the possession of knives which open automatically. Section 84(1) defines "a knife that has a blade that opens automatically by gravity or ...more

I guess it really doesn't matter what's "banned", if there's zero enforcement. When knives are banned, only the outlaws will have knives. What a shame not even one of the 2 dozen plus stabbing victims didn't have a Glock in his waist band, definitely lives woulda been saved.  The only way to stop a bad guy with a knife is clearly with a good guy and a Glock !!

Do you really think any of the victims saw them comming?  A good guy with an aluminum bat would have sufficed. What kind of carnage do you think they could have inflicted if they had firearms?  More?  Probably. BTW were they out stabbing holes in Line 3?

Mass shootings are SOOOOO yesterday, Can-Er-DUH sets the trend by amping it up to the next level with a mass STABBING ! I wonder if 'Merica will soon issue a travel advisory for Canada given how violent this country has become. And oh yeah - Go Can-Er-DUH Go ! I am sure that the multitude of American travelers that were going to spend their winter break in Prince Albert are canceling their travel plans as we speak. No piplines were harmed in the making of this thread.

One suspect is dead, the other is still at large.  I sure hope they can arrest the 2nd brother without incident, rehabilitate him, and release him in to society in a few years.  After all, that would be the Canadian thing to do, right ?   Americans aren't known for their geographical prowess, I wonder if they'll cancel their Banff ski trips because of the violence we ...more

That's ok they will just go skiing in Quebec.  They don't think it is part of Canada.

Switchblades are banned, but in general folding knives (like the classic Swiss Army knife) are not. I think you'll find that the switchblade ban is old, older than Mr. Socks. Have you gotten around to blaming him for the sun shining? I blame him for solar eclipses -- he's had LOTS of time to legislate them out of existence. .

A good flipper pocket knife is lightning fast with a little practice. Don't leave home without it.
