Two important points to consider, firstly all back-in rights have expired therefore Xstrata cannot increase its ownership without consent and secondly Eastmain holds a majority interest in the project and Xstata’s interest is currently being diluted. The budget is approximately $150 to $200K (over and above the $4M Quebec budget). Eastmain is using flow-thru funds sold to management at a premium to the stock price. There may be no drill news but there is definitely a benefit to shareholders.
