Advancing toward production in 2014, a major new project in James Bay, Canada.
The Éléonore project is one of the significant projects in theGoldcorp development pipeline and a key component of our next generation of growth projects. On target for first production in 2014, development is proceeding on schedule.
A 2011 pre-feasibility study updatefor Éléonore calls for robust, low-cost gold production in the heart of one of the most attractive mining jurisdictions in the world. Inconjuction with refinements to earlier technical work, the new development plan details a doubling of the plant thorughput to 7,000 tonnes per day, contributing to an average of more than 600,000 ouncesof gold production per year over an approximate 15-year mine life. The deposit remains open at depth and future exploration success creates the potential for further gold production upside. Life-of-mine cash costs are expected to be below $400 per ounce.
